Habitat Norway is a Norwegian non governmental organisation with the overall aim to promote the interest and awareness of settlement issues around the world. The organisation was established in order to put settlement issues on the Norwegian Development Policy Agenda.  Habitat Norway is a member of the Habitat International Coalition.

The organisation was founded in 1988 as a result of the activities carried out during the International Year of Shelter for the Homeless. The organisation is attached to the Norwegian Branch of International Federation of Housing and Planning, and is open  to all professionals; it has members representing many different disciplines such as architecture, engineering, sociology, human geography, and social anthropology. The activities consist mainly of lectures and seminars, sometimes in cooperation with other organisations. Habitat Norway arranges a seminar in October each year in celebration of the World Habitat Day.

GENERALFORSAMLING I HABITAT NORGE, TIRS 27. MARS 2007 

Styret i Habitat Norge ønsker velkommen til generalforsamling i Klubben på Håndverkeren i Rosenkrantz gate 7, tirsdag 27.mars 2007 kl 18:30. 

Frist for å melde saker til styret er 1.mars. 


Generalforsamlingen etterfølges av møtet Med visjoner og byplaner fra Norge til Midt-Østen fra kl 19:30 til 21:30. Møtet er arrangert i samarbeid med Bolig og Byplanforeningen og fokuserer på hvordan norske fagfolk forholder seg til utfordringene i å gjennomføre byutviklingsprosjekter i arabiske land. Blant annet vil vi se eksempler fra Doha i Qatar som planlegges å vokse fra dagens 600 000 innbyggere til 2 millioner. Hvilken utvikling det planlegges for, hvem det bygges for, og hvordan man håndterer prinsipper om en bærekraftig- og inkluderende byutvikling vil være sentrale tema. 

Gudmund Stokke (fra Narud, Stokke, Wiig) og Alf Haukeland (fra Asplan-Viak), samt Øystein Grønning (fra migrant architecture+urbanism) vil presentere prosjekter i henholdsvis Doha og Ajman (mer info på www.migrant.no ). Kommentarer ved Rolf H. Jensen og Ingun Bruskeland Amundsen. Dette blir en spennende kveld, så sett den av allerede nå! Det vil selvsagt bli servert noe å spise og drikke.
